We believe that care in the community can be different, and we want to make sure that our Support Workers, the communities that we operate in and the families that experience our service understand what drives us - quality, dignity and respect. We provide a range of solutions to individuals and families who need care and support within their own homes whilst maintaining dedication, integrity and compassion. We strive to continually develop and improve the services that we offer.

Jane Starrs's Story

I decided after working in the care industry for many years that a care company that really cared and wanted to make a difference was greatly needed. So I established Continuity Care Scotland Limited in 2019.

My incredibly high standards are what have led to the provision of excellent quality care. I wanted to ensure that the approach to anyone needing support was person centred and tailored to individuals’ requirements. My motivation and beliefs have formed the basis for the ethos of Continuity Care Scotland and is the focus for all members of my team.

By using our care and companionship services we will provide an alternative to a nursing home. In this present climate we are all coming to realise that home is the best place for us to be.

Janet Nightingale's Story

When I was a teacher in Newcastle upon Tyne, I woke up one morning and thought “I must move to a colder and wetter place” so here I am in Edinburgh. I actually moved to Edinburgh because I fell in love with a Scotsman but at the time there were no teaching jobs available, so I needed to look for a new career. But what can a wood and metalwork teacher do?

In 2010 I felt the need for a change that still involved working with and caring for people. Care in the community seemed to be my perfect choice but at first, I didn’t have a good experience. I was about to head in another direction when I met a lady who showed me what care could and should be all about and since then I have embraced this world but also tried to help improve it on the way.
Working my way up through the ranks I have been a registered manager since 2016 in various companies.
I have finally found a company and a business owner who actually has the same values that I have.
The workforce in the care industry should be celebrated and made to feel valued and this is what we at Continuity Care Scotland do. I have always thought that if I look after my support workers they will look after my clients. Win-win situation.
Here at Continuity Care Scotland we are one warm family, working together as a team, to ensure our clients are happy, healthy, and safe, living in the environment that they love.

Our Company Values

Knowing ourselves. Each member of the team sees and takes ownership of their development needs. We work together with the team to address these needs and provide any required training.
There is no ‘I’ in ‘Team’. Although we may work as individuals, we encourage our team to invest in building relationships with their colleagues. Working as a team we can instil the beliefs that together we can be the best that we can be.

Our Approach to Care in the Community

Our staff and clients are at the heart of Continuity Care Scotland. We focus on the person and their needs ensuring that the care provision is personalised and tailored to each individual.

We can accept self-funding and direct payment or a combination of both. The person centred care or companionship package we offer can be funded by various means.
Progressive cover to allow aid independence at home. When someone wants to remain in their own home, we will strive to achieve this for them with extra training and resources for our support workers to ensure that the package develops to meet the requirements.
Quality time. Through our care package we relieve you of stresses relating to the provision of care and this allows for quality family time.
We focus on compatibility and relationships. We aim to place the correct support worker for your needs, requirements and companionship. The same friendly team builds the trust and reliability that you need.

We are regulated. As a company we are regulated and reviewed by the Care Inspectorate, the regulatory body for social care services set up by the Scottish Government. All Support Workers are registered with Scottish Social Services Council.
